Belly fat can be a real pain and for most of us ladies, it’s a lifelong battle of the midsection bulge. Today I am sharing a few tips that I have discovered to help us trim those waistlines without hating our life!

1 – Try Carb-Cycling
Carb Cycling is one of the nutritional strategies that we practice in TRIM Boot Camp to help our ladies get insane results in a short period of time. The secret behind carb-cycling is that the variation of low carb days and high carb days allows your body to burn fat while building lean, metabolism-boosting muscle. Implemented properly, carb cycling makes fat loss easier from a physiological standpoint and, best of all, it makes the lifestyle actually enjoyable long-term because you don’t have to give up all of the foods you love. To get started, calculate your macros using my fitness pal and plan for two days a week back-to-back that are less than 50 net carbs (carbs-fiber).

2 – Add in these 5 Superfoods
Chickpeas, beans, and lentils are filled with fiber and plant-based protein to help build lean muscle, as well as immune-boosting antioxidants and bloat-busting minerals.

Salmon is packed with polyunsaturated fatty acids plus vitamin D found in each fillet is linked with lowering your risk of disease, and you’ll also get vitamin B6, which can help with mood and stress regulation.

Potatoes are an excellent source of potassium, which can help beat bloat and counterbalance sodium. They’re also loaded with fiber to help keep you full longer.

Avocado was linked in a 2013 study to lower waist circumference and BMI. The monounsaturated fats are heart-healthy and help fill you up, reducing the urge to graze later on.

Leafy Greens and cauliflower are especially helpful for tightening up. They’re loaded with minerals like potassium, which can help offset the bloat-inducing effects of sodium.

3 – Don’t Forget Exercise
Exercise helps burn fat, boost metabolism and build lean muscle. A combination of HIIT training + strenght training is my personal favorite to get the best possible result. With exercise, consistency is key. Make it part of your lifestyle and stick to it!

4 – Track
Most of us have no idea how much we’re eating so we’re big fans of tracking for awareness. I personally love My Fitness Pal and have my macros set to the standard 50% carbs, 20% protein, 30% fat. Spend a week just tracking what you are currently eating to see where you are and then start pre-planning (A Healthy Passion is awesome for this) to make sure you reach your goals!

So there ya have it, my tips for trimming the waistline. A Healthy Passion has been a key tool for real food macro recipes that I can easily track in My Fitness Pal to help me stay on track. If you haven’t yet, you can try it for free for 14 days, just click here!

Cheers to blasting that belly fat.
